It initially retroed in 2012, and this time, the Kamikaze II will reintroduce its famous OG black and white colorway. Details on the price are yet to be determined, so stay tuned for that.
The Reebok Kamikaze II OG became famous because of NBA All-Star Shawn Kemp, the “Reign Man” who played in the ’90s. During that period, there was a craze in basketball sneakers, and the Kamikaze II OG had a great significance as they reflected the company’s popularity and strong influence on the basketball market.
Like the boldness shown by its players, the bold color combinations paved the popularity of the Kamikaze II OG. It also became of the best-selling basketball sneakers during that time. Unfortunately, Reebok’s prominence did not last long, with other brands gaining popularity.
But it was not the end for them. Reebok has found its way back to the basketball shoe scene, and that is because of nostalgia. Reebok is using sentimental yearning to fuel their business. It has started this campaign as they go through their archives, bringing out some of their best basketball shoes to up their game.
From Shaquille O’Neal’s Shaq Attaq line to Allen Iverson’s Question and Answers signature shoes, Reebok is making its way to the top again. They have already re-released some of their best shoes since the year started. They will be releasing more and even remixing many of their designs from the ’90s, including the Reebok Kamikaze II. And when it comes to retro shoe models, their original catalog has been doing well on the market.
