When it comes to picking a pair of skate shoes, there are a few factors to consider.  They are comfort, durability, and style.  Comfort is obviously necessary because skaters are on their feet all day, launching themselves off of ledges or whatever they can find.  Durability comes into play because skating takes a toll on your kicks pretty fast.  And last is style because nobody wants to wear an ugly pair of shoes.

One of the main components of a sneakers style is its colorway.  People love it when a new colorway comes out for their favorite kicks.  But what if you could create your own colorway using an almost limitless number of combinations?  Well, now you can do exactly that.

Custom sneakers are so popular because people like that they can specify how they would like their shoes designed, and Nike noticed this.  That is why Nike has given us the ability to customize various styles of their shoes right from their website.  For skaters, a popular customizable shoe is the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski RM.

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski RM’s are a sleek low-cut skate shoe with suede uppers and an embroidered Nike Swoosh on the side panels.  These shoes were designed by skaters for skaters.  The durable rubber Midsole contains an auxetic pattern for more flex. Additionally, the insole includes a larger Zoom Air unit for optimal heel cushioning.

When you are designing your own Janoski’s you can customize every part of the shoe.  The customizable options include Outsole, Sidewall, Additional Laces, Closure (laces), Swoosh, Quarter, Tongue, and Base.  There are 10 color options for both suede and canvas materials for the base and quarter components.  There are 10 color options for the swoosh and 12 options for laces.  The sidewall and outsoles come in white, black, and brown. There is also a feature that allows you to add text or a logo to the tongue.  You can even customize the slip-on versions.

If you skate, then it is probably already time for a fresh pair of shoes.  Why not rock a pair that you designed yourself?  They retail for $110, and you can create yours at Nike.com
