Kanye West has been at the forefront of sneaker culture, and the Yeezy Boost 380s are another acclaimed sneaker in his Yeezy lineup. This last year has seen a lot, including the anticipated release of West’s Yeezy Boost 380s, an adjusted and elevated upgrade from the previous Yeezy 350 v2. Originally planned to be the Yeezy 350 v3, the name changed to Yeezy 380, and debuted at the end of 2019. It has only continued to gain in popularity and releases as the year goes on.  

 

Considering snagging a pair of Adidas Yeezy Boost 380s? Here are some frequently asked questions and answers to know before buying the 380s.

 

What colors are available?

There are currently three available colorways of the Yeezy 380, with more on the horizon. The “Alien” colorway features a translucent seafoam green with a new Primeknit pattern on its upper, no lateral side stripe, and a thicker Boost midsole. The “Mist Reflective” colorway is a neutral, toned-down version of the Yeezy 380. Its camouflage-like design comes in warm hues of olive, gray, and tan in both a reflective and non-reflective version. Most recently releases were the awaited Yeezy 380 “Blue Oat” was dropped in reflective and non-reflective versions. This latest version of the Adidas Yeezy Boost 380 features an orange Primeknit upper with brown accents, a brown tongue, and contrasting hints of blue on the side.

 

Looking ahead, Kanye West and Adidas’ collaborative sneaker silhouette looks to be releasing six additional colorways. Among them are colorways like the all black iteration “Onyx” which is set to release Black Friday 2020, the grey and light blue Pepper colorway, a brown and yellow LMNTE, two glow-in-the-dark styles in “Calcite Glow” And “Hylte Glow”, and the brown and burgundy Azure in the late 2020 lineup. 

 

How is the Yeezy 380 different from the Yeezy 350?

Compared to the previous Yeezy Boost 350 v2, the Yeezy 380 is more shaped as a performance sneaker than its predecessor. The comfort and feel is much different from the 350, Kanye’s most successful sneaker. The Boosts do feel pretty similar though the most notable difference is in the heel of the 380, which is curved upwards. The 380 has a sock-like fit, where the collar of the shoe wraps around your ankle vs. the 350 that has a more open fitting. Another minor difference is the size of the toe box, whereas the 350 has a smaller toe box, the 380 has opened up for a roomier toe box which provides a little more room to move and breathe. 

 

How do I clean my Yeezy 380s?

While the Yeezys are designed for fashion, the mesh can get dirty fast. A few options to keep your sneakers fresh and clean. Since they have a knit upper, they should be treated as a fabric. As for the rubber outsole, you can scrub them with a bristled brush and some quality sneaker cleaning solution. You can machine wash your Yeezys as long as they are washed on the delicate cycle with cold water. However, machine washing could cause more wear and tear than hand washing.
