The summer of this year has been eerily quiet for the GEL-Kayano 5 OG. However, that may all change this fall, especially with the release of MOUSSY’s interpretation of the beloved ASICS Running Shoes. A fair example that simplicity can still stand out. This collaboration between the popular sneaker company and the sophisticated women’s casual wear brand out of Japan seeks to show that less is more with this pair that features a subtle colorway and a conventional, first-rate build.

Donned in almost all black, the pair features a breathable upper made of mesh and a base comprised of leather and accentuated by suede overlays. Slivers of silver can be seen surrounding the heel as well as the laces and the lace keepers. There’s a little bit of white on this sneaker, which you will see on the embroidered ASICS graphic on the tongue and also the heel.

The midsole, which is made of a closed-cell foam called the EVA and is complemented by GEL, together with the thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) shank and rubber outsole are all dressed in black to finish off the subtle, sleek look.
