- Release date: January 22, 2020
This year, Adidas is giving four of its top sneakers Red/Black/Gold colorways to celebrate Chinese New Year.
Red and Gold are a primary theme of Chinese New Year décor. In Chinese culture, red symbolizes fire, good fortune, and joy. Red is the color of happiness and is used strictly for celebrations. Gold symbolizes wealth and prosperity. These two colors combined represent a message of good fortune and prosperity for everyone in the new year.
The Adidas sneakers included in the Chinese New Year Pack will be D.O.N. Issue #2, D Rose 11, Pro Model 2G Low, and Dame 7. Each silhouette has its own way of displaying the Red, Gold, and Black colorway.
The D.O.N. Issue #2 Has a primarily red base with black midsoles, tongue, and rear quarter, while gold is seen in the branding and speckled on the midsole. The D Rose 11 is almost 50/50 red/black color scheme, with gold showing on the black midsoles, the branding, and the “Lightstrike” midsole. The Pro Model 2G Low opted for a black base, you can see gold on the stripes and toe cap, and red is in the laces and branding. Another shoe with a primarily red colorway is the Dame 7, which has gold branding and speckles on the black midsoles. The only other black on the dame 7 is seen in the heel, laces, and sock liner.
When these release on January 22, you can start spreading your own messages of good fortune and prosperity every time you walk out of the house. So set your reminders for the release of this Adidas Chinese New Year Pack.
