The Kobe 6 Protro “Mamba Forever”
2020 has been a tough year and of course tragedy struck our world when the news of Kobe and Gigi Bryant passing came about. Tearing at our hearts for weeks on end last year, the Bryant’s were sorely missed and remembered by the general public because of their wholesome energy on and off the court. Kobe has been in the spotlight scene for many years and him bringing in his daughter, Gigi, into this world in a very wholesome manner captured the hearts of fans and even onlookers on his life.
In loving memory for the younger Bryant, the Nike Zoom Kobe 6 Protro “Mamba Forever” was created solely just for this purpose. To commemorate the life of the late Laker player and his daughter, this was Nike’s way to show them and the family some love.
These “Mamba Forever” shoes exhibited a classic black and white color scheme, as opposed to the gold and purple color combination of the basketball team Lakers (in which Kobe Bryant was part of before he passed on). This colorway was intended to represent the main colors of the Mamba Sports Academy that the late Kobe Bryant spearheaded. The inner linings of this pair showcase a black and white snakeskin pattern.
At the side of the heel part of the sneakers (as seen below), a golden “2” was strategically placed there to symbolize Gigi’s jersey number. This makes the gold color an accent color to the black and white colorway that this shoe edition has. Imprinted on the tongue of the shoes is the infamous Kobe icon in white.

Unfortunately, it has not been confirmed yet when exactly these shoes will be released to the public and in their respective stores. However, the shoe manufacturing company has confirmed that this pair of Nike Zoom Kobe 6 kicks will be released this year 2021 during the summer!
