Racecar Inspired Nike SB Dunk “Gulf”

Racecar Inspired Nike SB Dunk “Gulf”

We recently shared images of the SB Dunk Low “Pink Pig”, which was styled after a pork-inspired Porsche that raced in the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans. Nike must be on a racecar kick recently because they are releasing yet another racecar inspired SB Dunk Low, this time in Chill Blue. This SB Dunk is styled after a 1970 Porsche 917K.  This Porsche, in particular, was sponsored by Gulf Oil and had a Blue and Orange paint job.

Nike did a great job of embodying the 1970 Porsche race car with their SB Dunk.  The upper of these kicks are Chill Blue suede, just like the Porsche’s paint. The Swoosh is a double swoosh with white overlaying black, and there is a circular racing number “58” embroidered on the rear quarter.  The midsole is White with a thin Black racing stripe, and the outsole is primarily Orange with a Chill Blue accent. The Racing number “58” is also seen on the tongue tags.

Whether you love Porsches, Skateboarding, or a good old-fashioned Blue and Orange colorway, it’s sure you can agree that this is a clean and unique pair of SB Dunks.

The SB Dunk “Gulf” will be an Orange Label release, so they will only be available at specific skate shops.

They release in Japan on February 27th, and Europe will see them closer to mid-March.  There are even some rumors of a US release.
