In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Japanese manga Doraemon, get ready for the nostalgia as Nike SB is to release a Doraemon-inspired pair of kicks to the public. The beloved retro anime character became one of the pinnacles of the Japanese animation. Through the multiple episodes and feature films, video game spin-offs, and various merchandise, this little blue cat robot cemented the popularity of Japanese pop culture, which led skate videographer Kevin Perez to create a pair of skateboard shoes with Doraemon as its primary inspiration.

Nike SB Dunk High Doraemon Features

The Nike SB Dunk High Doraemon comes in a colorway of bright red, blue, yellow, and white, imitating the colors of Doraemon. The white leather uppers and midsole are complemented by the contrasting color of blue suede overlays. Aside from that, the outsoles are also in Doraemon blue. The signature Swooshes on the side and the shoelaces are in red. The lock of the lace and the tongue tab are in yellow, similar to the collar bell worn by Doraemon.

Release date

If you’re a skateboarder,  into retro anime, or love Japanese anime-inspired merch, the Nike SB Dunk High Doraemon is set to hit the shelves sometime later this year.
