Giannis Antetokounmpo Zoom Freak 2 Deep dive review | Kicks Guru

There’s a lot to be excited about the Nike Zoom Freak 2 from Giannis Antetokounmpo. Like its predecessor, the Zoom 2 combines looks with performance to create a quality final product. Its look is out of this world: the signature Nike swoosh takes the form of a striking detached overlay that wraps around to the rear. The mesh upper is made in a number of eye-catching colorways and sits atop a foam midsole with Zoom Air cushioning in its forefront and a shank plate and decoupled outsole. There are more things to consider than snappy looks, however.

How Does it Perform?
The Zoom Freak 2 is designed for the player on the go. Its comfortable and lightweight mesh upper allows the shoe to flex as needed, while the outsoles provide stability; this works great if you are playing on clean courts. The lightweight materials and flexibility of the shoe make it the perfect choice for guards; however, some reviewers have noticed minor issues relating to the lack of cushioning. While the uppers fit securely, the lack of Zoom Air technology across the entire sole means that you lose some impact protection across the shoe. Other reviewers have noticed problems as they attempt to pivot; depending on your position and personal preference, this might not be the shoe for you.

All things considered, the Zoom Freak 2 is a clear improvement on the Zoom Freak 1. It is an affordable signature sneaker that offers most of the features you need on the court. It’s not heavy or cumbersome; you’ll feel light and responsive on your feet when wearing it. Most wearers find that the Zoom Freak 2 fits true to size; because of the snug fit the wrapped logo creates, you might want to size slightly up if your feet are wide. All told, you’re likely to find the Zoom Freak 2 a worthwhile investment for the price!
