Air Jordan 1 AJKO “Chicago” 2021 Release Rumors

Air Jordan 1 AJKO “Chicago” 2021 Release Rumors

With the beginning of 2021 comes exciting new sneaker releases! Air Jordan has recently announced a new revival of its iconic Air Jordan 1 KO in the “Chicago” colorway.

To this day, nobody knows exactly what the “KO” stands for, though some speculate that it stands for “Knock Out.” The shoe’s effect on sneaker culture is certainly “knock out” worthy. The colorway was originally released in 1986 and quickly became legendary for its recognizable black, white, and red color combination and its canvas upper. The original release also introduced the AJKO branding instead of “Air Jordan” on the Wings logo. Since its original release, the AJKO has returned several times, with its most recent release in 2014. To this day, its striking colorway and its unique use of material make the AJKO one of the most beloved iterations of the entire line.

Early images of the newest release appear to indicate that it looks almost exactly as it did in its early debut, with its upper constructed almost entirely of canvas. Polished black leathers wrap the ankle and the Swoosh; the ankle flap, eye stay, and toe cap will remain their signature red. The base and tongue are white with a slight yellow tinge to reference the line’s vintage status.

Sources report that the Air Jordan 1 is set to release in Spring 2021 at select retailers. Anyone looking to pick up a pair for themselves should stay tuned – this sneaker is unlikely to remain in stock for long!
